G. Multifeeder
1. Outline
The multifeeder is a mechanism which picks up
paper from its tray and which is capable of continuous
pick-up operation.
The copy paper on the tray is detected by the
multifeeder paper sensor (PS5).
The copy paper on the tray is forced against the
pick-up roller by the paper guide plate; the pick-up
roller starts to rotate when it receives drive from the
main motor (M1) through a clutch.
The pick-up roller and the separation pad serve
to make sure that no more than a single sheet of
copy paper is sent to the registration roller.
The above series of operations is executed for
each pick-up.
