Chapter 7
Policies Commands
This chapter describes the Run-Time CLI commands that are used to configure IP
policies in the Passport 8000 Series switch.
IP Policies
The ip policy commands allow you to configure and view IP policy features
supported on a Passport switch. The accept and announce policies are configured
for the switch according to the selected protocol (RIP or OSPF). A policy is made
up of three parts: matching criteria, set parameters, and action. The matching
criteria are used to decide whether or not a policy should be applied to a certain
route.
After an announce policy is selected for a route, the set parameters construct the
route advertisement only if the action is announce. After an accept policy is
selected for a route, the set parameters are used to introduce the route into the
routing table if the action is to accept.
config ip policy Commands
There are several basic categories of IP policy commands:
config ip policy info command
config ip policy addrlist commands
config ip policy netlist commands
config ip policy ospf commands
config ip policy ospf accept commands
config ip policy ospf announce commands
config ip policy rip commands
