13.3 Checking If PCI Hot Plug (PHP) Can
Be Used
PHP enables you to perform maintenance for the PCIe cards while Oracle Solaris is
operating. This section checks whether the PCIe card requiring maintenance can use
PHP.
1.
LogintotheXSCFshell.
2.
Execute the sho w logs command to identify t he PCIe c ard requiring
maintenance.
For details, see "3.3.5 Checking log information."
3.
Confirm t he hardware and s oftw are configurations.
For details, see "4.2 Confirming the System Configuration."
4.
Check whether the PCIe card requiring maintenance supports PHP.
The following PCIe cards do not support PHP:
[FCoE] SP1X7FAR2F, SP1X7FAS2F, SP1X7FBR2F, and SP1X7FBS2F
[IB] SE1X7BA12F and 7104073 (7104074)
If the PCIe card requiring maintenance does not support PHP or if you do not
use PHP, you do not have to perform step 5 and the subsequent step.
5.
If the PCIe card requiring m aintenan ce supports PHP, execute the ldm list-io - l
command to confirm the logical domain to which the P CIe card is assigned
and t h e logical do main to w hich the P CIe root co mplex the P CIe card belong s
to is assigned.
