7 In the Password box, type the text string you want to use for a password, then in the Confirm
Password
box, re-type the text string.
The text string can be any length and can use any keyboard character.
8 Do one of the following:
• To activate the settings and close the
Modify RIP Configuration window, click Set, then
in the confirmation dialog click
Back.
• To cancel the settings and close the
Modify RIP Configuration window, click Cancel.

ARAMETERS
You can configure several system-wide bridging and Spanning-Tree Protocol (STP)
parameters. Each parameter comes preconfigured with a default value, however you can modify
each setting.
You modify system bridging and STP parameters from the
System Bridging Configuration
window. To one of the following to open the
System Bridging Configuration window:
• In the
Site Map Navigation window, click System Bridging Configuration.
• In the
Tree Navigation window, click Configuration Management, Bridge/Route, System Bridging
