ARP COMMANDS
The ARP commands in the Command Line Interface (CLI) are listed (along with the appropriate parameters) in the following table.
Command Parameters
create arpentry <ipaddr> <macaddr>
delete arpentry [<ipaddr> | all]
show arpentry {ipif <ipif_name 12> | ipaddress <ipaddr> | static}
config arp_aging time <value 0-65535>
clear arptable
config arpentry <ipaddr> <macaddr>
Each command is listed, in detail, in the following sections.
create arpentry
Purpose Used to make a static entry into the ARP table.
Syntax
create arpentry <ipaddr> <macaddr>
Description This command is used to enter an IP address and the
corresponding MAC address into the Switch’s ARP table.
Parameters
<ipaddr> The IP address of the end node or station.
<macaddr> The MAC address corresponding to the IP address
above.
Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command. The Switch
supports up to 255 static ARP entries.
Example usage:
To create a static ARP entry for the IP address 10.48.74.121 and MAC address 00:50:BA:00:07:36:
DGS-3600:4#create arpentry 10.48.74.121 00-50-BA-00-07-36
Command: create arpentry 10.48.74.121 00-50-BA-00-07-36
Success.

delete arpentry
Purpose Used to delete a static entry into the ARP table.
Syntax
delete arpentry {[<ipaddr> | all]}
Description This command is used to delete a static ARP entry, made using the
create arpentry command above, by specifying either the IP
address of the entry or all. Specifying all clears the Switch’s ARP
table.
Parameters
<ipaddr> The IP address of the end node or station.
all Deletes all ARP entries.
Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
