config snmp system_name
Purpose Used to configure the name for the Switch.
Syntax
config snmp system_name <sw_name>
Description The config snmp system_name command configures the name of
the Switch.
Parameters <sw_name> - A maximum of 255 characters is allowed. A NULL
string is accepted if no name is desired.
Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To configure the Switch name for “DGS-3600 Switch
”:
DGS-3600:4#config snmp system_name DGS-3600 Switch
Command: config snmp system_name DGS-3600 Switch
Success.
DGS-3600:4#
enable rmon
Purpose
Used to enable RMON on the Switch.
Syntax enable rmon
Description
This command is used, in conjunction with the disable rmon
command below, to enable and disable remote monitoring (RMON)
on the Switch.
Parameters
None.
Restrictions
Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
Example Usage:
To enable RMON:
DGS-3600:4#enable rmon
Command: enable rmon
Success.
DGS-3600:4#
disable rmon
Purpose
Used to disable RMON on the Switch.
Syntax disable rmon
Description
This command is used, in conjunction with the enable rmon
command above, to enable and disable remote monitoring (RMON)
on the Switch.
