Software Upgrade
The Software Upgrade feature allows the customer to upgrade the device software as requested by a Xerox
Customer Support Center Representative, without needing a Customer Service Representative to be present.
When Should I Upgrade the Software?
Xerox is continually seeking to improve its products and a software revision may become available to
improve functionality on the device. Your Customer Support Center Representative will instruct you to
upgrade your device when it is necessary.
How Do I Upgrade the Software?
IMPORTANT: Any jobs in the queue must be allowed to complete or be deleted before initiating a
software upgrade.
There are two methods for upgrading the software on the device:
Over a network connection using Internet Services via a web browser.
Auto upgrade.
1. Software Upgrade via Network Connection
If your device is connected to the network it is possible to upgrade the software through Internet Services.
The device will need to be configured for TCP/IP and HTTP.
2. Auto Upgrade
If performing a software upgrade on the device via Internet Services it is possible to set the Auto Upgrade
feature to schedule automatic device software upgrades from a central server at a specific time on a regular
basis.
To determine whether your device has a network connection, print a Configuration Report as follows:
1. Press the <Machine Status> button.
2. Touch the [Machine Information] tab.
3. Touch [Information Pages].
4. Touch [Configuration Report].
5. Touch [Print], then touch [Close]
