Cause Codes
Clearing Causes
The clearing cause recorded in a call packet provides a high-level indication of why
the call was cleared and where the error occurred (e.g., error by the source user, or
internal network error). For example, when the diagnostic code indicates that a pro-
tocol error occurred, the clearing cause might indicate that the error was committed by
the destination user (i.e., remote procedure error).
