D-Link DWS-1008 CLI Manual 133
Usage: The maximum number of Telnet sessions supported on a switch is eight. If SSH is also
enabled, the switch can have up to eight Telnet or SSH sessions, in any combination, and one
console session.
Examples: The following command enables the Telnet server on a DWS-1008 switch:
DWS-1008# set ip telnet server enable
success: change accepted.
See Also:
• clear ip telnet
• set ip https server
• set ip telnet
• show ip https
• show ip telnet
set ntp
Enables or disables the NTP client on a DWS-1008 switch.
Syntax: set ntp {enable | disable}
enable Enables the NTP client.
disable Disables the NTP client.
Defaults: The NTP client is disabled by default.
Access: Enabled.
Usage: If NTP is configured on a system whose current time differs from the NTP server time
by more than 10 minutes, convergence of the switch time can take many NTP update intervals.
D-Link recommends that you set the time manually to the NTP server time before enabling NTP
to avoid a significant delay in convergence.
Examples: The following command enables the NTP client:
DWS-1008# set ntp enable
success: NTP Client enabled
