set snmp
community
Names the SNMP read and read-write communities, which allow remote
wireless LAN switches to access management information base (MIB)
objects on a WX switch.
Syntax —
set snmp community {read-only | read-write}
comm-string
read-only — Allows the specified community string read access only.
read-write — Allows the specified community string read and write
access.
comm-string — Name of the SNMP community. Specify between 1
and 256 alphanumeric characters, with no spaces.
Defaults — None.
Access — Enabled.
History —Introduced in MSS Version 3.0.
Usage — SNMP community strings are passed as clear text. 3Com
recommends that you use strings that cannot easily be guessed by
unauthorized users. For example, do not use the well-known strings
public and private.
Examples — The following command configures the read-write
community good_community:
WX4400# set snmp community read-write good_community
success: change accepted.
