Set User and Password Security
Set User and Password Security
NOTE: Level 1 users (managers) have access to all commands. Level 2 users have
access to all commands except add/delete/set user, but they can change their own
password. Level 3 users can only display system status and reports, and they can change
their own password.
1. Show current user settings with the following command:
show users
The following is a typical message:
User Level Last Login

Dave46 3 12:14:33 11/20/1998
2. If user settings correct are correct, skip remaining steps.
NOTE: User names can be up to 10 characters long, and may use any combination of
letters and numbers. Spaces and special characters are not allowed.
3. Add new user names with the following command:
add user <name>
Example: add user Alice
NOTE: All users have Level 1 access (highest) unless changed to a lower access level.
4. Set user access levels and passwords with the following command:
set user <name> level <access>
Example: set user Alice level 2
The settings are as follows:

3 Set the user to access level 3 (lowest).
