18-98 August 2003 Access Navigator - Release 1.8
CLI Language Reference
CLI Command List
Purpose: Assigns a range of DS0s to a range of CRVs. The switch system needs to know the Call
Reference Value (CRV) for each DS0 voice termination. The switch uses the CRV to
set up GR-303 crossconnects in the Access Navigator. The CRV for each DS0 in the
Access Navigator is programmable. Also, using a single CLI command, the operator
can assign a range of DS0s to either a sequential range of CRVs for GR-303 service or
to an odd-even range of CRVs for TR-08/SLC-96 service. (The Access Navigator
provides GR-303 to TR-08 translation for use with Carrier Access’ Access Bank I/TR-
08.)
Factory default CRVs are sequentially numbered from 1 to 768 (as shown in Figure
18-24), starting with the first DS0 channel on DS1 #1 and continuing to the last DS0
channel on DS1 #32.
If desired, the user can assign different CRV numbers. The only requirement is that the
CRVs for all assigned GR-303 or TR-08 voice terminations must be different.
The example in Figure 18-25 assigns DS0 channels 9 to 16 on DS1 #4 to CRVs 111
through 118 in sequential order. The command can also be used to make assignments
one at a time.
For TR-08/SLC-96 service, the optional slc96 modifier makes the command assign a
range of DS0s to a range of CRVs in odd-even order. The odd numbered DS0s will be
assigned to the first 12 CRVs, and the even numbered DS0s will be assigned to the last
12 CRVs. The example in Figure 18-26 assigns DS0 channels 1 to 24 on DS1 #4 to
CRVs 311 through 334.
NOTE: There must be an equal number of DS0 channels and CRVs, up to
a maximum of 24 DS0s on one DS1.
NOTE: When using the slc96 modifier, all 24 DS0s must be assigned at the
same time, so the DS0 range must always be 1-24 and the CRV range must
always span 24 CRVs.
Security: Level 2 (operator)
Syntax: set ds0 <n:ch> crv <range> [slc96]
Field Description
n DS1 number, 1 to 32.
ch DS0 number, 1 to 24, or a range of numbers such as 5-8.
range Call Reference Value, 1 to 768, or a range of values such as 121-
136. Maximum range is 24 CRVs.
slc96 Optional setting. When omitted, DS0s will be assigned to CRVs
in sequential order, as shown in Figure 18-25. When included for
TR-08/SLC-96 applications, the DS0s will be assigned to CRVs
in odd-even order, as shown in Figure 18-26.
