Access Navigator - Release 1.8 August 2003 18-29
CLI Language Reference
CLI Command List
Connect
Purpose: Creates two-way connections between DS0s or fractional groups of DS0s (see Figure
18-2). The two <n:ch> settings allow you to make connections between individual
DS0s or between two ranges of DS0s. Each range must contain an equal number of
DS0s.
Crossconnects can be static (nailed up) or dynamic (assigned as needed). Static DCS
crossconnects must be set up between voice or data type DS0s. The Access Navigator
creates dynamic crossconnects between GR-303 type DS0s on switch DS1s and drop
DS1s, as commanded by the central office switch.
The Access Navigator only allows crossconnects between compatible voice, data, and
GR-303 types, as shown in Table 18-1. Invalid crossconnects in the table are grayed
out.
ISDN BRI is transported using multiple DS0s for the B1, B2, and D channels. The
3DS0 transport mode is set up using digital crossconnections between drop and groom
DS1s. GR-303 4:1 TDM transport mode uses a static connection for the D signaling
channel between the drop DS1 and the switch DS1, while the bearer B1 and B2
channels are connected to the switch only as needed.
NOTE: When RDT provisioning is enabled at the switch, the switch will
automatically configure the ISDN BRI D channel crossconnections when you
use the send switch provision request command. If RDT provisioning
is not enabled, you must configure the D channel crossconnections at the
Access Navigator.
