Solving Problems with Printing or Plotting
If you encounter a problem when you are printing or plotting, check the following list for
possible causes:
n Look in the analyzer display message area. The analyzer may show a message that will
identify the problem. Refer to the “Error Messages” chapter if a message appears.
n If necessary, refer to the configuration procedures in this chapter to check that you have
done the following:
q connected an interface cable between the peripheral and the analyzer
q connected the peripheral to ac power
q
switched on the power
q switched the peripheral on line
q selected the correct printer or plotter type
n If you are using a laser printer for plotting, and the printer is outputting partial plots, the
printer may require more memory and/or the page protection activated.
Note
Consult your printer manual for information on upgrading memory and how to
activate page protection.
n Make sure that the analyzer address setting for the peripheral corresponds to the actual
HP-IB address of the peripheral. The procedure is explained earlier in this chapter.
n Make sure that the analyzer is in system controller mode, by pressing

n Substitute the interface cable.
n Substitute a different printer or plotter.
