Note: In a VRRP or VRRPv3 group, if two routers come up with the same priority and another router
already has MASTER status, the router with master status continues to be master even if one of two
routers has a higher IP or IPv6 address.
Master State: Although both R2 and
R3 have the same priority (100),
R2 is the master in the VRRP group
because the R2 interface has a
higher IPv6 address.
Backup State: R3 is the backup in
the VRRP group because the R3
interface has a lower IPv6 address.
