Configure Link Layer OAM
Configuring Link Layer OAM is a two-step process:
1. Enable Link Layer OAM. See page 97.
2. Enable any or all of the following:
a Link Performance Event Monitoring on page 99
b Remote Failure Indication on page 102
c Remote Loopback on page 103

Enable Link Layer OAM
Link Layer OAM is disabled by default. Enabling it places the system in Active mode and initiates OAM
discovery.Both peers on the link must be have link performance event monitoring enabled for discovery to
complete.
Task Command Syntax Command Mode
Enable Ethernet OAM.
ethernet oam
Default: Disabled
INTERFACE
Display the OAM discovery status. show ethernet oam discovery interface interface EXEC Privilege
