To configure object tracking on the status of a Layer 2 interface, use the following commands. To remove
object tracking on a Layer 2 interface, enter the
no track object-id command.

Tracking a Layer 3 Interface
You can create an object that tracks the routing status of an IPv4 or IPv6 Layer 3 interface. You can track
the routing status of any of the following Layer 3 interfaces:
1-Gigabit Ethernet: Enter
gigabitethernet slot/port in the track interface interface command (see Step 1
below).
10-Gigabit Ethernet: Enter
tengigabitethernet slot/port.
Port channel: Enter
port-channel number, where valid port-channel numbers are:
For the C-Series and S-Series, 1 to 128
For the E-Series, 1 to 32 (EtherScale) and 1 to 255 (TeraScale and ExaScale)
SONET: Enter
sonet slot/port.
VLAN: Enter
vlan vlan-id, where valid VLAN IDs are from 1 to 4094.

Valid object IDs are from 1 to 65535.
CONFIGURATION
2 (Optional) Configure the time delay used
before communicating a change in the
status of a tracked interface.
delay {[up seconds] [down
seconds]}
Valid delay times are from 0 to 180
seconds. Default: 0.
OBJECT TRACKING
3 (Optional) Identify the tracked object
with a text description.

The text string can be up to 80
characters.
OBJECT TRACKING
4 (Optional) Display the tracking
configuration and the tracked object’s
status.
