Configure the Management Port IP Address
Assign IP addresses to the management ports in order to access the system remotely.
To configure the management port IP address:
Configure a Management Route
Define a path from the system to the network from which you are accessing the system remotely.
Management routes are separate from IP routes and are only used to manage the system through the
management port.
To configure a management route:
Configure a Username and Password
Configure a system username and password to access the system remotely.
Note: Assign different IP addresses to each RPM’s management port.

Assign an IPv4 or IPv6 address to
the interface.
ip address {ipv4-address | ipv6-address}/mask
• ipv4-address: an address in dotted-decimal
format (A.B.C.D).
• ipv6-address: an address in hexadecimal format
(X:X:X:X::X).
• mask: a subnet mask in /prefix-length format (/
xx).
