volume mountpoint (Windows specific
term)
An empty directory on a volume that
can be used to mount another volume.
The volume mount point acts as a
gateway to the target volume. Provided
that the volume is mounted, users and
applications can refer to the data on the
mounted volume by the full (merged)
filesystem path as if both volumes are
one integral part.

VxVM (Veritas Volume Manager)
A Veritas Volume Manager is a system

Remote power-up support for systems
running in power-save mode from some
other system on the same LAN.
Web reporting
The Data Protector functionality that
allows you to view reports on backup
status and Data Protector configuration
using the Web interface.

Data Protector allows you to back up
Windows CONFIGURATION,
including Windows Registry, user

Windows Registry
A database repository about a
computer's configuration.
WINS server A system running
Windows Internet Name Service
software that resolves Windows
networking computer names to IP
addresses. Data Protector can back up
WINS server data as part of the
Windows configuration.

A process that initiates change of data
on the original volume. Writers are
typically applications or system services
