Because each device on the serial connection must have a unique address, entries are made in the MPK Devices
Table to associate the serial port numbers to the ES−Tributary address of the CM port. Also assigned in this table
are the input, output and level sets associated with router levels to be controlled on that port:

Dev Name: This is the device name to be assigned to the controlling device on the port. It is an alpha−numeric
name up to 8 characters long.
Dev Type: This is set to ES−TRIB.
Board: Enter the board name of the CM 4000(s) being configured. This name must be identical to the name entered
into the Network Description Table.
Port: Enter the port number of the serial port that was configured for the ES−Tributary protocol.
Address: For each port on a given serial line, a unique hex address must be assigned. The address must be an even
hex value between 8280 and 828E.
Input Set: Enter the name of the desired input set created in the CP Input Set Table. The set that is created must
be specifically for use by serial devices. The CP Input Set defines the inputs that can be controlled on this port.

Out Set: Enter the name of the desired output set created in the CP Output Set Table. The set that is created must
be specifically for use by serial devices. The CP Output Set defines the outputs that can be controlled on this port.

Lev Set: Enter the name of the desired level set created in the CP Output Set Table. The set that is created must
be specifically for use by serial devices. The CP Level Set defines the levels that can be controlled on this port.
