Usage
Information
Dell Networking recommends configuring metrics on all interfaces. Without
configuring this command, the IS-IS metrics are similar to hop-count metrics.
isis metric
Assign a metric to an interface.
Syntax
isis metric default-metric [level-1 | level-2]
To return to the default values, use the no isis metric [default-metric]
[level-1 | level-2] command.
Parameters
default-metric Metric assigned to the link and used to calculate the cost
from each other router via the links in the network to other
destinations. You can configure this metric for Level 1 or
Level 2 routing. The range is from 0 to 16777215 irrespective
of the metric style. The default is 10.
If metric value is configured to more than 63, system
throughs the following warning:Warning: for metrics
greater than 63, 'metric-style wide' should be
configured on level-1-2, or it will be capped
at 63.
If the metric style is WIDE, the metric values that are greater
than 63 are only effective.
level-1 (OPTIONAL) Enter the keywords level-1 to configure the
shortest path first (SPF) calculation for Level 1 (intra-area)
routing. This setting is the default.
level-2 (OPTIONAL) Enter the keywords level-2 to configure the
SPF calculation for Level 2 (inter-area) routing.
