7.USART Operation
7.5 Bidirectional Communication Function (Normal Mode)
In operation mode 0 or 2, normal serial bidirectional communication is available. Select operation mode 0 for
asynchronous communication and operation mode 2 for synchronous communication.
■ Bidirectional Communication Function
The settings shown in figure 7-8 are required to operate USART in normal mode (operation mode 0 or 2).

■ Inter-CPU Connection
As shown in figure 7-9, interconnect two CPUs in USART mode 2

7.6 Master-Slave Communication Function (Multiprocessor Mode)
USART communication with multiple CPUs connected in master-slave mode is available for both master or
slave systems.
